MIT Research: Global Warming Killed 90% of the Earth beings 252 Million Years Ago

Image showing the Five Major Mass Extinctions in the Last 500 million years on earth

Global Warming/ Climate Change the buzz words that were circulating since the last two decades with scientists warning of rising sea levels and extinction of species couldn't turn in to much action. There are still quiet considerable percentage of policy makers who dunk the climate change prophecies. Many researchers are being on both ends. But it requires no Phd to understand that the quality of life is deteroirating inspite of greatest scientific achievements. People say that History repeats - and it proved to be true on many occassions . Now the issue is a research by MIT geeks that Global warming killed 90 % of the species on this earth some 252 million years ago. ..

Nobel Prize Chemistry 2011: Quasi Crystals

In quasicrystals, we find the fascinating mosaics of the Arabic world reproduced at the level of atoms: regular patterns that never repeat themselves. However, the configuration found in quasicrystals was considered impossible, and Dan Shechtman had to fight a fierce battle against established science. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2011 has fundamentally altered how chemists conceive of solid matter...

Nobel Prize in Physics 2011 : Universe Will End In Ice

"Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice..." * What will be the final destiny of the Universe? Probably it will end in ice, if we are to believe this year's Nobel Laureates in Physics. They have studied several dozen exploding stars, called supernovae, and discovered that the Universe is expanding at an ever-accelerating rate. The discovery came as a complete surprise even to the Laureates themselves.

Oxford Research: Pocket Fuel Cells to replace batteries

Today the world is going mobile -Even Laptops are old fashioned now . The era of ipads, smart mobiles is already here. Every one wants the world in their hands  . But their is one hiccup with this gizmos, the battery. The prime power driver for these mobile devices is the major hurdle in being completely mobile - you have to wire often to get it charged. Lithium ion is the present power source for most of the Laptops and gadgets. Battery is one place where to say frankly innovation is slower.

Now Oxford University is developing a new technology using catalysts which make hydrogen from formic acid and could eventually replace lithium batteries and power a host of mobile devices...

NASA: Chandra X-ray Observatory Discovers Nearest Pair of Supermassive Black Holes

Astronomers using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory discovered the first pair of supermassive black holes in a spiral galaxy similar to the Milky Way. Approximately 160 million light years from Earth, the pair is the nearest known such phenomenon.

The black holes are located near the center of the spiral galaxy NGC 3393. Separated by only 490 light years, the black holes are likely the remnant of a merger of two galaxies of unequal mass a billion or more years ago...

NASA's Mars Orbiter hints water flows on The Red Planet- Mars Rover reaches new spot

Earlier water/ice were disovered on our neighbor the Earth's satellite moon. That dicovery was based on ISRO's Chandrayaan and NASA's LRO. Now some more news of "hints" oof water flow on our neighbouring planet Mars - The Red Planet. Seems our natural water resources on earth are dwindiling - scientists are finding on distant planets. The finding marks a significant step in quest to fnd whether living conditons for some form of Life persist on the Red Planet . The observations from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter have revealed possible flowing water during the warmest months on Mars. ..
