NASA Research Suggests Lots of Water on Moon

NASA-funded scientists estimate from recent research that the volume of water molecules locked inside minerals in the moon’s interior could exceed the amount of water in the Great Lakes here on Earth.

Scientists at the Carnegie Institution’s Geophysical Laboratory in Washington, along with other scientists across US , determined that the water was likely present very early in the moon’s formation history as hot magma started to cool and crystallize. This finding means water is native to the moon.

Japanese Asteriod Explorer Hayabusa Returns Earth

A capsule thought to contain the first samples grabbed from the surface of an asteroid has returned to Earth.The Japanese Hayabusa container hit the top of the atmosphere just after 1350 GMT, producing a bright fireball over southern Australia.It had a shield to cope with the heat of re-entry and a parachute for the final drop to the ground.A recovery team later reported they had identified the landing zone in the Woomera Prohibited Range.

Hylas, the broad band satellite will be ready by august for delivery : ISRO

 The activities related to the realisation of Hylas satellite are progressing satisfactorily for delivery in August 2010 to the customer-  - said in a update dated 2nd April on ISRO's website. So the schedule launch of Hylas can be by the year end of 2010.

HYLAS,( Highly Adaptable Satellite) is the name of a small geostationary communications satellite planned for launch in 2010. HYLAS is being constructed by EADS Astrium for the UK telecommunications company Avanti Communications Plc.
