There are many media players which people have to run after, for playing different versions - Windows Media Player for MPG , Real Player for Real Media , Quick Time for MP4 .. The list goes on. Many times you must have been frustrated to play a media file type unheard of. Then one has to search for the required codecs...  :sad: And if you don't have net connectivity or if the connection is slow... you may have to drop the idea of viewing the video clip... Huff... VLC 1.0 has a variety of new features: instant pausing (an old bug has been fixed), playback for zipped files, frame-by-frame support and high definition (HD) codecs for Blu-Ray PCM and True HD. Most significantly, it can record ‘on the fly.’ This means that if a certain sequence in the middle of the movie tickles you, no sweat. Hit record and the DVD — even the new encrypted ones — get directly copied onto your hard drive as you watch the movie.
