Japanese Asteriod Explorer Hayabusa Returns Earth

A capsule thought to contain the first samples grabbed from the surface of an asteroid has returned to Earth.The Japanese Hayabusa container hit the top of the atmosphere just after 1350 GMT, producing a bright fireball over southern Australia.It had a shield to cope with the heat of re-entry and a parachute for the final drop to the ground.A recovery team later reported they had identified the landing zone in the Woomera Prohibited Range.

2010 will be International Year Of Youth : UN

As the time ripe and we add on age, our memory draws back every now and then to those time when we are young. With added age and maturity in mind and body, we often repent getting old. Youth is the one with force and energy , which can change the course of International events and happenings, and if focused may be  even the rotation of earth. Don't mind myself being a bit poetic  , as I have already touched the quarter century of Innings on this planet,  I sometimes feel how great it is to be young and bubbling. Now the occasion of all this 'meant to be emotional' syllable is "UN proclaimed 2010 as the Year Of Youth" ....

Nepal Government holds Cabinet Meeting on Mt. Everest

 Mt. Everest the highest point on earth , which many adventure enthusiasts try to conquer every year is also one of the  geological hot spots with regular tectonic activity and where evidences of  damage by climate change are quiet apparently visible .

To highlight the impact of climate change and to attract the attention of world leaders, one week before the Copenhagen Summit on Climate change, Nepal government held a cabinet meeting on the Mount Everest .

UNESCO prize for use of technology in education unveiled

 The Rector of the Moscow Institute of Open Education and Jordan's Ministry of Information and Communications Techonology have been chosen as the winners of an annual United Nations prize for the use of ICTs in education. They were chosen from among 39 projects in 29 countries by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO) for the 2009 UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize.
