Mathematics and Computer Science courses take a lion share of MIT OCW Most Visited Courses

You might have heard of  Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts and ranks among the most prestigious academic institutions in the world. Established in 1861, MIT has since played a key role in the development of modern science, engineering, mathematics, and technology.

MIT OpenCourseWare (MIT OCW) is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to publish all of the educational materials from its undergraduate- and graduate-level courses online, freely and openly available to anyone, anywhere. The website is ocw.mit.edu.  Started in 2001 and completing 20 years, MIT OCW has started a new era of Open Courseware. This small article just looks at the Most visited course on MIT Courseware.

MIT OpenCourseWare- 15 years of sharing it all FREE!!!

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1861 in response to the increasing industrialization of the United States, the current 168-acre (68.0 ha) campus opened in 1916 and extends over 1 mile (1.6 km) along the northern bank of the Charles River basin.

Will it not be a dream for every passionate student to be part of MIT? But only the lucky few get into the Great walls of the MIT campus. However in the year 2001, something great happened - MIT decided to share the courses and it's content online and to free for all. This 4th April 2001 article of Newyork times has announced the starting of a new era of free sharing - the emergnce of MIT OpenCourseWare.

UNESCO prize for use of technology in education unveiled

 The Rector of the Moscow Institute of Open Education and Jordan's Ministry of Information and Communications Techonology have been chosen as the winners of an annual United Nations prize for the use of ICTs in education. They were chosen from among 39 projects in 29 countries by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO) for the 2009 UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize.
