No Recession Impact On Tirupati Hundi
Global meltdown has rocked the economies of several countries and sent giant corporates and Wall Street firms scurrying for cover. There’s hardly a country that has not felt the impact.
India has had its share of woes. Amidst all this, there is an institution that has remained largely unscathed. It’s the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams – popularly known as TTD – the sole custodian of the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara.
The
major chunck of income of TTD is from Hundi Collections and it increases by 10 - 15% every year. And this year is also no exception. The Hundi
Collections of TTD during the last four recession hit months are as follows-
January, February and March 2009 is put at Rs 40.69 crore,
Rs 34.87 crore and Rs 40.90 crore respectively against Rs 36.13 crore, Rs 33.76 crore and Rs 37.76 crore for the corresponding months in
2008.
May the God grace also fell upon the other struggling MNCs and may the World be back on the fast track for Development.
