Google Changed the logo on it's homepage to Mark the 140th Birth Anniversay of the Mahatma

Mahatma Gandhi Joins elite band including Michael Jackson, Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci and Confucius by appearing on the 'Google Doodle'.  The Doodle will appear not only on Indian Google but also all round the world. Google Doodled to mark the 140th annicersary of the "Father of Modern India".

Google tinkers with the logo of it's prized website to mark some important occassions. Recent google tinkering is on it's own birthday, the 11th anniversary of Google in which it got the aptly spelt Goog'll'e to appear.

Gandhi Jayanti apart from being celebrated in India as a national holiday known  – October 2 is marked around the world as International day of Non Violence.
