 So atlast Microsoft enters the Anti virus business, and that too free - can you believe? So sleepless nights for Anti virus Legends Macafee and Norton. After a short three-month beta program, Microsoft is officially releasing Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), its free, real-time consumer antimalware solution for fighting viruses, spyware, rootkits, and Trojans. MSE is yet another layer of defense the company is offering to help its customers fight the threats that plague Windows PCs.

The Microsoft Website says about it's product in plain simple sweet english like this-

The installer file is 8.61 MB  for Windows and some 4.28 MB for Windows Vista.

Before going into further details and download links -it works only on genuine Windows install.
