80 years of Indian Talkie Cinema - Google Joins celebration with Doodle for Alam-Ara
Indian Talkie Cinema has completed 80 momentous years...
Alam Ara (The Light of the World; 1931), directed by Ardeshir Irani, was the first Indian sound film. Irani recognized the importance that sound would have on the cinema, and raced to complete Alam Ara before several other contemporary sound films. Alam Ara debuted at the Majestic Cinema in Mumbai (then Bombay) on March 14, 1931. The first Indian talkie was so popular that "police aid had to be summoned to control the crowds."
So today March 14th happens to be the 80th anniversary of this legendary film. And do you know , who is the first one to celebrate this momentous occassion of Indian CInema. It is non other that GOOGLE. Google celebrates the occassion in it's trade mark way by Doodling..

PDF stands for Portable Document Format and it was created by Adobe to ease document exchange. Now a days we see Pdfs everywhere - ebooks, printable application forms, cartoon strips, e-magazines etc.. It has become universal format on E-world to provide information has to be read .
Pdfs are created by Adobe Pagemaker which is a bulky software in addition is not a freeware. So generally sometimes we limit ourselfs to send them as word documents. Now there are many useful softwares and easy softwares for creating pdf and doPDF is one of the coolest.

The Most Shuttled Spacecraft "Discovery" Retires
The oldest and most traveled space shuttle, Discovery, on Wednesday landed back on Earth after its final space flight and will now end its days as a museum piece to delight the crowds.
The shuttle cruised onto the runway at Kennedy Space Centre at 1657 GMT, wrapping up a rich, 27-year career in spaceflight that has spanned more distance and endured longer than any of the remaining three US shuttles...

International Women's Day 2011 - 100 years of Struggle for equality
This year marks the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. Interceptor Missile Test Fired successfully
As part of its endeavour to create a shield against incoming enemy missiles,the indigenous interceptor was fired from Wheeler Island off the Orissa coast near Dhamra in Bhadrak district.
"Aimed at developing a full fledged multi-layer Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system, the trial was carried out from two launch sites of ITR off Orissa coast," defence sources said.

Oxford Study Says - a third of us have used dating websites
An Oxford University study suggests that nearly one in three of us who use the internet have visited online dating sites. An international survey of 24,000 men and women who are presently online found that just six per cent had gone to dating websites in 1997 but by 2009, 30 per cent of the sample had tried them with 15 per cent finding their current partner that way.
The Oxford Internet Institute (OII) conducted an online questionnaire with 12,000 couples from 18 countries, all of whom had regular access to the internet. They were asked a series of questions about whether they had visited dating websites, other online services and where else they might go looking for a partner. The questions related to the period 1997 to 2009.

NASA will be missing it's one of the most sincere and reliable workhorses soon. Space shuttle Discovery roared off the launch pad at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida to begin its last mission to the International Space Station. The 39th flight of NASA’s most flown shuttle is scheduled to last 11 days (Now extended by NASA to 13 days),began it's journey on Thursday, Feb. 24.Space shuttle Discovery and the six-person STS-133 crew lifted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Feb. 24, 2011, and reached the International Space Station Safely after one day.
