After a successful Chandrayaan I mission ISRO is now all geared up for Chandrayaan II. India's first lunar mission Chandrayaan-1 had accomplished nearly 95 per cent of its scientific objectives and is considered a success internationally.  It's on board NASA instrument made a buzz by confirming the presence of water/ice on Moon.

The Chandrayaan mission II is targeted in 2013. ISRO recently finalised the payloads that are to be flown onboard Chandrayaan II . Chandrayaan 2 will have an orbiter (satellite), a lander and a rover. Chandrayaan-2 is planned to be launched onboard Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. While the lander will be provided by Russia, the orbiter and the rover are being built by ISRO....

In a major victory for the army, an advanced version of BrahMos block-II was successfully tested from the integrated test range at Chandipur off Orissa coast on 5th September(sunday) .. The highlight of the mission was the missile performing a steep dive at a supersonic speed.This is the first time in the world that a supersonic steep dive manoeuvre has been realised by a cruise missile said the military sources . 

Do you know how much money is spent on Military every year – worldwide? – It is 1100 billion $ of which 623 billion $ is by US alone and rest is by the rest of the world.  And in situations of wars the spending is still higher. We spend so much money to plan killing and murdering of mass number of people (of course war is no more than a mass murder) but not for feeding one billion hungry people who sleep every night with empty stomachs. The 34th session of the World Heritage Committee meeting in Brasilia since 25 July was finished on 2nd of august, its consideration of nominations for the World Heritage List . Meeting under the Chairmanship of the Minister of Culture of Brazil, João Luiz da Silva Ferreira, the Committee inscribed 21 new sites, including 15 cultural, 5 natural and 1 mixed properties. Three countries, Kiribati, Marshall Islands and Tajikistan, had sites added for the first time.

Tirumala Tirupati  temple the abode of Lord Venkateswara is going the greener way . The temple is very famous pilgrimage place of India situated on a hill top (Venkatachalam) in Andhra Pradesh State and is visited on an average by 50,000 pilgrims daily. Given the mammoth number of pilgrims visiting and staying there, power requirement is high. There are many restaurants, cottages , hotels, rest rooms etc.  It is almost like a small city ruled by the Lord . May be due to the power and influence of God or something else the adaption of green technologies is praise worthy on the temple hill unlike the slower tendency for non- conventional sources of energy in the rest of the  country.From gardening to cooking, only non-conventional sources of energy are now being used in the temples of Tirupati.
