Each year, Children's Day is celebrated in the spirit of childhood itself. It teaches us to be innocent and inquisitive as a child who enjoys learning in whatever he does with a big smile.

It is a day for children to engage in fun and frolic and is celebrated with special vigor at the school level. Schools across India have special programs for the day, including quiz, fancy dress competitions, children's art exhibitions and so on.Even we people at a small town like Gooty (Anantapur) organised Quizzes and dance competitions for School children and it was a joyful experience.

Rani Rudrama Devi - The Brave Queen Of Medieval Kaktiya Empire- Her Life and videos
 Rani Rudrama Devi

The perception of the history of the past has often been primarily from male point of view. That’s why it is called “His”tory rather than “her”story or “their”story. Isn’t it? Generally all the historical writings relegated women to background. The activities of men are mostly projected while that of women were  ignored and were almost neglected. The Forgotten Hero : Shaheed Bhagat Singh - Born 28th September

Today, that is September 28 (some sources say it as 27th sept), is one of the most adored and respected Indian freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh’s 103rd birth anniversary. Bhagat Singh or Shaheed (Martyr) Bhagat Singh was the biggest revolutionaries of the India’s fight for freedom.

"We know that the maxim "Might is right" serves as your guiding motto. The whole of our trial was just a proof of that. We wanted to point out that according to the verdict of your court we had waged war and were therefore war prisoners. And we claim to be treated as such, i.e., we claim to be shot dead instead of to be hanged. It rests with you to prove that you really meant what your court has said.

We request and hope that you will very kindly order the military department to send its detachment to perform our execution." These are the few lines in the Last Petition given by Bhagat Singh to the Governer of Punjab. Ofcourse as usual the Governer has given a deaf year to this Hero and was hanged on 23rd March of 1931.

Sachin...the nation's hero

Sachin...the nation's hero

Cricket for me is my religion, like for millions of others of my age. I read an article by Siddharth Vaidyanathan about he fab-4 retiring. For me, they were all great. Ganguly, when he would knock the ball out of Taunton would make me fill with pride. Dravid, when he would hit the straight drive, would make me forget my Maths test. Kumble made me adopt a new bowling run-up ........
