181 Million People added in the last decade - and Indian Population is now 1.21 billion
India has added 181 million new people to its population over the last decade, according to the results of the 2011 census.
Call it Population Explosion, population catastrophe , or human resources blast - Indian population is up up on the way. 181 million new heads were added to the population in the last decade.
India's population is now 1.21bn, which is bigger than the combined populations of the US, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan and Bangladesh.India launched the latest census exercise last year.The growth rate in 2011 is 17.64 per cent in comparison to 21.15 per cent in 2001...

80 years of Indian Talkie Cinema - Google Joins celebration with Doodle for Alam-Ara
Indian Talkie Cinema has completed 80 momentous years...
Alam Ara (The Light of the World; 1931), directed by Ardeshir Irani, was the first Indian sound film. Irani recognized the importance that sound would have on the cinema, and raced to complete Alam Ara before several other contemporary sound films. Alam Ara debuted at the Majestic Cinema in Mumbai (then Bombay) on March 14, 1931. The first Indian talkie was so popular that "police aid had to be summoned to control the crowds."
So today March 14th happens to be the 80th anniversary of this legendary film. And do you know , who is the first one to celebrate this momentous occassion of Indian CInema. It is non other that GOOGLE. Google celebrates the occassion in it's trade mark way by Doodling..

Interceptor Missile Test Fired successfully
As part of its endeavour to create a shield against incoming enemy missiles,the indigenous interceptor was fired from Wheeler Island off the Orissa coast near Dhamra in Bhadrak district.
"Aimed at developing a full fledged multi-layer Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system, the trial was carried out from two launch sites of ITR off Orissa coast," defence sources said.
